Learn here about 1 women's boating, discovery, voyage and endurance to design and build an all "hands-on", aluminum sailboat. Endurance and perseverance was applied to her marriage, but was it enough to endure the trials...at sea and on land...
" In Life What Sometimes Appears To Be The End Is Really A New Beginning."
Cruising was a dream that's why Mariner was purchased. A 12 meter America's Cup sloop built in 1974. Skippered first by Ted Turner and Dennis Connor. Mariner's transition from racer to a world cruiser took 1 man years to rebuild.
Stream lined for racing, she had an aluminum hull and was gutted, restored and set for her maiden voyage. But hurricane Lili with 15-20' waves set Mariner down on a beach behind a reef. Towing company, hole in hull, arbitration board awarded $325.00 for the total loss of Mariner.
"The great majority of men are bundles of beginnings"

Time stood still as the doctor reported you have cancer. Like a slap in the face, the cold sting hit her with a cancer operation, closing down the business, laying employees off, finishing construction projects, packing up a 3 bedroom home, laid up for weeks on end.
1 woman moved 1050 miles away to Florida with 1 man. Eye to eye I said "Why don't we just build a sailboat?"
A women's discovery, starting over story of how a marriage was challenged when we designed, built "hands on", our 65 foot aluminum custom cruiser.
2008 was the year of completion. The design, cutting, grinding, welding, building was completely constructed by us. Whether you are a boater, sailor or would rather not have sea legs. Come with me and stay a while. I will share with you what I have learned.
We are all inventors, each sailing out on a voyage of discovery, guided each by a private chart, of which there is no duplicate. The world is all gates...
